Heartworm Testing

Service Description

Heartworm testing is recommended annually for all dogs. Heartworms are transmitted to dogs through the bite of a mosquito. The heartworms mature in the heart and the lungs and can cause your pet to have difficulty breathing, poor heart performance and even death. Heartworm testing requires a small sample of blood. Results from the test are available immediately. A negative heartworm test and physical exam are required in order to receive a heartworm preventative prescription.
